We started with a simple idea: just the two of us, one vehicle, two cats, and the belief that travel should feel personal. Before the rebranding, we were CarBuddy. We wanted our guests to feel like they were visiting a friend, not just making a transaction.
As we grew, we evolved into Varen. The name is new, but our DNA hasn’t changed. We still run things hands-on and oversee every detail ourselves. Whether you meet Matt and Adriana in person or ride with one of our trusted local partners, you are in expert hands. We still treat every journey as if it were for our own friends – because that’s exactly how we started.
We are a fully licensed tour operator authorized by the Icelandic Tourist Board.

Built the website. Introverted, observant, and frighteningly efficient online. Savage to Matt, somehow adored by guests. The calm in the storm. Her phone screen is mysteriously always dirty.
